         Nutty Banana Bread in the UK

Ingredients

  • 100 grams of softened butter
  • 140 grams of caster sugar
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 225 grams of plain flour
  • 2 tablespoons of baking powder
  • 4 very ripe bananas 
  • 85 grams of chopped nuts ( we prefer Walnuts, Almonds, or Cashews )

 

 Method

  1. Pre-heat oven to 180 C / 160 C fan/gas mark 4.
  2. Grease and line a 2Ib loaf tin.
  3. In a large bowl, mix the butter, sugar, and egg. Then slowly add in the flour and baking powder.
  4. Peel and mash the bananas and add to the bowl, along with the nuts, and combine.
  5. Pour the mixture into the loaf tin and bake for 1 hour, or until the skewer comes out clean.
  6. Serve in thick slices or with your favourite ice cream, delish.
